How to Calculate Servings Based on Alcohol by Volume (ABV) In general, wine ranges from about 5.5% ABV for very low-alcohol wines to 20% ABV for fortified wines. So if a wine is 15% ABV, in a 750 mL bottle, 112.5 mL is pure alcohol (.15*750). A 750 mL bottle of 15% ABV has 6.7 (750÷112.5) servings of alcohol according to the standards set by NIH.
A typical 300ml glass of beer has an alcohol proof (ABV) of 4.8%. That’s approximately 11.5 grams of alcohol in a standard drink or alcoholic beverage. In comparison, a typical glass of wine has about 17.6 grams of alcohol. On the other hand, vodka is a distilled spirit. This liquor usually has 40%-50% alcohol (compared to 12% ABV of wine.)

If the Zhao et al.'s overly broad criteria of a "moderate" drinking group of 1.3 -24 grams alcohol/day, and the sliver of a low alcohol intake group they defined as 0-1.3 grams/day, had been applied to the Di Castelnuovo data, no statistically significant reduction would have been found.

Original post by zayn008. Let's see… it takes about 5-8 shots of vodka to get me off my head, each shot is 40% and 25ml so we'll do 6*25ml = 150ml, * 0.4 = 60ml alcohol. One pint has 25.5ml of alcohol so 5-6 pints… which is the same as the amount of shots hmmmm… interesting. Although I guess it wouldn't work like this in theory.
